O.P.I. Spring 26
GIRL, YOU LOOK
POLISHED!
THE ASK
FOR THEIR SPRING ‘26 COLLECTION, OPI LAUNCHED NEW COLORS, COMBINING FAN FAVORITES. THE FOREVER BESTSELLERS ‘BUBBLE BATH’ AND ‘FUNNY BUNNY’ NOW BECOMES ‘BUBBLE BUNNY’. THEY ASKED ME TO CREATE BESPOKE WORLDS AROUND THESE COLORS, BRINGING THEM TRULY TO LIFE IN STILLS, A 30” VIDEO AND ELEMENTS TO USE ON PACKAGING.
THE SOLVE
For this iconic beauty brand, first and foremost I wanted my work to look more high-end and polished - pun intended. The worlds we created should focus on the main product, but still give enough clues for the fans to understand the color name. We used photographs of each bottle and matched the lighting around it in 3D. For animation we pulled out all the stops to make it work. I LOVE the end result, hope you do too!
FINAL VIDEO
Starting out with the iconic O.P.I. shape, bursting out with colors we see the different color worlds spinning by, finally resolving back into a drop of polish back into their logo. Fluidity was key in this animation!

Starting with a pencil
I always like to start with some simple drawings, to quickly get a feel for the composition and shapes. The aim here was to get the new color name across, without being too literal. How can I portray Bubble Bunny without having a full Bunny or too obvious Bath accessoires in the mix? Subtle bunny ears and beautiful bubbles, translucent materials and a cream colored fluffy ball, representing the cute bunny tail. Subtle, but effective!
Tease me
Aside from the main video, we also created a teaser that would swap the original classic color to the new and updated color, in this case Big Apple Red to Big Apple Green.
